Z-ASA Pro - Go outside and play with your 3D printed models

Z-ASA Pro filament material gives your 3D printed models high resistance to UV light, heat, and chemicals like salts, acids, and alkalis.  These properties make Z-ASA Pro ideal for 3D printing items that will be left outside in cars or trucks or exposed to the elements outdoors.

Z-ASA Pro features:

  • UV Stability - Z-ASA Pro models resist bleaching and disfigurement caused by sunlight, even after extended exposure.
  • Weather resistance - Z-ASA Pro is unaffected by rain, humidity, and temperature changes, so it's perfect for outdoor prototype testing or finished models that will be left outside.

Z-ASA Pro test print of car door handle looks great with semi-mat finish

I just made my first test print with Z-ASA Pro in graphite gray color. The part is a standby replacement car door handle for my Pontiac Vibe. The semi-mat surface finish is excellent. While the fatigue life won't be as long as the light gray Z-PETG door handles I have on my car right now (ever since Jan 2020), Z-PETG has a tendency to clog extruder nozzles. So, I thought I would evaluate medium tensile strength Z-ASA, due to its longevity in outdoor applications, as a possible standby replacement for my car door handles (once they have a fatigue failure).

Prints Great

Z-ASA prints really flat - even in the challenging conditions of my backyard 3D printing shed. Profound3D was great too! -Mike

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Will this filament work with good results on a Raise3d Pro2 printer? Zortrax Z-ASA Pro Filament 1.75mm

You may be better off using something that has an existing material profile for the Raise3D.
That would save you the inevitable trial and error and associated wasted time and material.
    See: https://www.raise3d.com/compatible-filaments/
We can probably get you the 3DXTECH or the Polymaker materials - give us a call if you would like us to pursue that for you.
